Today, I want to introduce you all to Sebb Bash through his album Fluorescent Mud. Sébastien Vuignier, known as Sebb Bash, is a hip-hop veteran, DJ, crate digger, and producer from Lausanne, Switzerland. He’s what I like to call “Homme de l’ombre”. Someone you might not realize is behind a record, but whose work speaks for itself. Sebb has been in the game since the nineties, his production credits include some of the most respected names in hip-hop, like Sean Price, Vic Spencer, Rome Streetz, Crimeapple, Ty Farris, Willie The Kid, Evidence, Armand Hammer (Billy Woods and E L U C I D), and Estee Nack..
I first discovered Sebb Bash through Evidence’s Unlearning Vol. 1 album where he produced two tracks “Sharks Smell Blood” and “Where we going from here”. After looking into his work, I found out he’s one of The Alchemist’s close friends. This makes sense when you hear his music. Sebb Bash’s style shows his love for vinyl and sample-based production. A true crate digger, he brings out the soul of records with his unique touch.
His album Fluorescent Mud Instrumentals is a perfect example of why he’s one of the most underrated producers out there. The record is packed with raw, sample-driven beats that feel special with every listen. Each track is minimal yet powerful, capturing the soul and emotion of the records he samples. And the artwork? Absolutely insane, it was handmade and captured by the talented Alex Lala.
Sebb Bash is an artisan producer who stays true to hip-hop’s roots. While he may not always be in the spotlight, his work stands out for those who appreciate authentic, sampled, chopped beats with a touch of laser Swiss precision.
